Cathal Gurrin
Cathal Gurrin is a senior lecturer at Dublin City University and has been an active lifelogger since 2006 when he began to work with wearable cameras and sensors. His research ream is developing search and organization technologies for such personal data archives, which he refers to as the 'search engine of the self'. He is the author of the recent FNTIR article on Lifelogging and has been the general chair of ECIR 2011, MMM 2014, MB 2016 and will be the co-general chair of MMM 2017. He is a recognised researcher in the field of Lifelogging, with his research having featured by the Economist, New York Times, BBC and Discovery Channel in recent years.

Hideo Joho

Hideo Joho is Associate Professor at the Research Center for Knowledge Communities, Faculty of Library, Information and Media Science, University of Tsukuba. He received an MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Sheffield in 1999 and 2007, respectively. His research interests include cognitive and affective interaction between search engines and end-users. Dr. Joho was a Program Co-Chair of NTCIR between 2010 and 2014. He is a co-founder of ASSIA. Dr. Joho is currently an Associate Editor of Information Processing and Management (IP&M), and will be a General Co-Chair of SIGIR 2017.

Frank Hopfgartner

Frank Hopfgartner is lecturer in Information Studies at University of Sheffield. His research to date can be placed in the intersection of information retrieval, recommender systems, and multimedia content access systems. His main interest is on the user-centric evaluation of such systems. He organised various tutorials and workshops (e.g., at SIGIR, RecSys, ICME, Hypertext, ...) to promote further research in this area. Currently, he is co-organising CLEF NEWSREEL, a living lab on the real-time evaluation of news recommenders. Frank graduated with a PhD in Computing Science from University of Glasgow.

Liting Zhou

Liting Zhou is a PhD student at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at DCU. Liting was a research assistant at DCU for the last 3 years before moving onto the PhD register. Liting was the local organising chair of MB 2016 and ensured the smooth operation of NTCIR-12/13 Lifelog. Liting’s research is exploring how lifelogs can be used as memory support tools.


Duc Tien Dang Nguyen

Ducky Tien Dang Nguyen is a Postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science, at Dublin City University. He is actively involved in developing new lifelogging analytics engines and commercialisation of lifelogging tools.

Rami Albatal

Rami Albatal is a Postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science, Ph.D. graduated from Joseph Fourier University - Grenoble, France in 2010. Co-leader of the Lifelogging group of Insight Centre for Data Analytics in Dublin City University, his research focuses on three main area: Lifelogging, Automatic Image Classification and Machine Learning. He is actively working on proposing new generation of Lifelogging technologies that employ advanced personal data analysis and machine learning, in the goal of providing advanced insight on personal data, and to improve data-driven decision making and planning.
